VG Law Academy

Before the platform, the academy’s study material was scattered. Notes lived across different files, chats, and emails, so students often weren’t sure what to study or where to find it. There was no simple way to download notes and revise offline. Access was a problem too — the files could end up with anyone, and the academy had no real control over who could see them. And every small update meant going back to a developer. What they needed was one secure place: somewhere only their students could log in, find the right subject and chapter, download what they need, and get important updates — and something the academy could run on its own.

  The academy wanted verified student accounts and full control over who sees what.

We began by mapping how a law student actually studies — log in, pick a subject, open a chapter, read or download the notes — and kept that path short and simple. Then we built it as a full-stack web app: a clean React dashboard on top of a Node.js and Express backend. Students register and sign in, and only verified accounts can open the material. Each subject is split into chapters, and every chapter’s notes can be downloaded as a PDF for offline study. An announcements area lets the academy post updates to everyone in one place. We hosted it on Render so it stays online with very little upkeep. And we set it up so the academy can add new subjects, chapters, notes, and announcements themselves — no developer needed.
